Jannie Noppe graduated in 2009 as a Master in Criminology at the University of Ghent. In March 2010, she started as a researcher at the research unit Social Analysis of Security, where she conducted research on the development of a recidivism monitor, the prevention of radicalization and polarization, the practicability of a knowledge and advice centre concerning radicalization in Belgium, the description of the minimal police capacity that is necessary for basic police work and the background of riots, conflicts, collective expressions of violence or collective disturbance in so-called disadvantaged neighbourhoods. From May 2011 until December 2014, Jannie has been assistant-editor of the quarterly series Journal of Police Studies. As of March 1, 2012, she is working as an assistant at the Department of Criminology, Criminal law and Social law where she is also preparing a Phd concerning 'Professional judgments on the legitimacy of police use of force'.
